Registration for the 2022 Football Season will open at 12:00pm on March 26th. Please take a few minutes to read the important information below prior to starting the registration process.
NSJFL Rule Change
NSJFL has changed the division guidelines starting this upcoming season. In previous seasons, division determinations were based on a player’s age on July 31st of that year. With the new rule change, a player’s division will be based on their grade level in the 2022-23 school year. This change will not impact most of the players from last season. However, it is a rule change, and we want you to be aware of it when you register. Here is the division breakdown:
PeeWee – K, 1st and 2nd grades
89er – 3rd and 4th grades
Junior – 5th and 6th grades
Bantam – 7th grade
Senior – 8th grade
Players who were rostered on a team for the Fall 2021 season will be given roster spot priority over new registrants. Roster spots will be based on the order registrations are submitted. Any returning players who register after the 6/1 cutoff date will lose priority status and would be placed at the end of the wait list. Each Head Coach has provided the LSYF Board with their max team size and we expect to keep rosters at those provided numbers.

Fees & Discounts
There will be no volunteer fee associated with this season’s registration. The cost of registration is $280 per player. We are able to keep this fee lower than many organizations due to volunteerism, sponsorships, fundraisers and amazing community support. Your registration fee includes the use of football gear and equipment, such as a helmet, shoulder pads, integrated practice/game pants, game jersey (yours to keep), game socks and belts. It also goes to cover the use of the fields around Lake Stevens, providing referees for games, an annual supplemental insurance policy we cover for all our players, and practice equipment such as dummies and bags.
If you register your player by April 16th you will qualify for an early registration discount and save $30. To take advantage of this discount, you must pay in full by April 23rd. Any early registrants who have not completed payment by this date will be sent a new invoice with the discount removed. For families who are registering multiple players, you will be eligible for $30 off your 2nd registration for a sibling and $50 off for any 3rd registration. We also offer a $50 discount for players who are 5 years old based on a July 31st cutoff date. When prompted, please indicate the total amount of players you are registering during the registration process, so we are able to invoice you for the correct amount.
You will be invoiced after the completion of your registration. All payments for registration fees are managed through SportsEngine. You must be logged into SportsEngine in a web browser (not in the app) to view any payments or invoices. During registration you will be provided the option of paying your fees in full or split payments. Registrations completed after the May 1st will not be eligible for split payments. Failure to pay all fees prior to the start of tryouts may result in removal from roster priority and placed at the end of the wait list. LSYF utilizes SportsEngine to manage the financial transactions and your sensitive banking information is kept between you and the professionals at SportsEngine.
LSYF believes that no child should be unable to participate in athletics because of his/her inability to pay. The Valkyries are hard at work this Spring to raise money specifically for this purpose. Scholarships are available upon approval of the LSYF Board. Approval is based on the LSJAA guidelines. A letter from the LSSD stating the registered child is eligible for free or reduced school lunches. If you are planning to submit a scholarship application, please work to obtain a copy of this letter right away. The deadline to submit a scholarship application is May 21st.
